 Popsugar Reading Challenge category: Second book in a duology
Book: Crooked Kingdom, by Leigh Bardugo The ambitious follow-up to Six of Crows. Kaz Brekker and his crew have been betrayed, one of them has been abducted, and they're out for rescue and revenge. On top of which, they have to make sure that the secret of the deadly magic-enhancing drug doesn't fall into the wrong hands. Their plan is very complex, with the kind of sudden twists that made the first book so satisfying. I particularly enjoyed the romance subplots. Kaz and Inej have both been through traumas that make it hard to be close to anyone, emotionally or even physically. The flirtation between Jesper and Wylan is more lighthearted and playful. Memorable characters, and a story that keeps spinning i your head after the last page.
